I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
–Henry David Thoreau
The building in the middle is the lodge, a haven with connections to the civilized world. Can you say Wi Fi? Building on the left is the ladies bathroom and wash house. Camping at it’s best. Yahhhhhh.
What a delight to be walking down the sandy path to the ladies bathroom and stumble upon this lovely message from the universe. I think it was trying to tell me to just give in and love the Northwoods.

just an FYI if wood is used in any way other than to burn …it is not camping …. if there is a door you can knock on ….it is not camping …. if your sleeping more than 8 inches off the ground its not camping ….just sayin …… but looks like a beautiful place …I would have loved it …. I hope you did …..
i love the mountains and altho i don’t live in or near them i think that’s where i belong…someday.
i’m sure you enjoyed this great camping trip- very sweet! 🙂
Loved the picture of the water the other day…these are great too. It is picture perfect. Now let’s talk reality…mosquitos, mosquitos, mosquitos, horeseflies, and ants. I am amazed they did not show up in the pictures!!
The pics are beautiful. The cabin is tiny. You’re right.
